Thanks Dave but I think I'll stick it out. You know me, Mr. Social butterfly. I'm sure I'll do just fine.

You'll have plenty of room to stretch out!

It looks that way but I did hear we are getting some new dock mates. Hopefully it won't be the Hooters girls. That would be disgusting. Who needs that around. Either way it's still the best place for me. New docks, fingers on both sides and indoor storage. We could use some new boards on the sea wall though. Maybe we can break up some of the empty slips and use the wood. :)

I say we all get together next season and try to put new boards up, I doubt its going to get done, just to protect ourselves from our boats getting damaged.

I'm thinking we can get all the new boards we want just from the trash that is still coming downriver!

Sounds like a fun project while you guys are at it maybe you should dredge the marina as well. If you could do both things let me know I would consider coming back. I'm not thrilled about spending more money I spend more the I can afford already.

Let's start a work club, we could call it Seaweed...

Even if Wayne dredged the marina that wouldn't be enough. Much of the problem is the channel outside of the breakwater out to deeper water. It's shallower than inside. I doubt if SPBM or Patsy's will ever get together and dredge it. Even us with small boats kick up mud coming in at dead low tide and I only draw 30". At least I can raise my drive and idle in. The big boats have to wait for the water to come in.

You are correct. However I have been coming in and out with my boat for 15 years and aside from some silt being churned up, I have never had an issue. I try to wait an hour on either side of low but have come and gone in dead low but I don't like it.

Churning up silt and sand and having it go through the water pump should be avoided if possible. It eats up the water pump seals. If I come down to go out and the tide is dead low usually I wait an hour or so for more water. I don't fault Dave for moving because of low water. If I had a large boat I would consider it also. We like SPBM and we are staying.

The prior endorsement was from a paid announcer...............

Just kidding.

Ken it has been a pleasure having you as a marina neighbor I will miss you and many others that I have know and enjoyed being around for for many years. I can still recall hailing you on the radio for a water level report before I ventured in thanks again for that.

As for the water being low in the channel you are spot on with this. I hit bottom more then a 100 yards from the last marker 2 hours before low tide during an extreme tide swing and I zinged my prop too. I ended up running over to Haverstraw and sitting out the tide before I returned to my slip.

[brRommer predicted I would grow tried of the place and leave, on some levels he was right but the lack of water is the main reason for my leaving I could live with most other issues although I must say a few things really PISSED me off.

Sorry my prediction came true but welcome to the world of boating whenever YOU want to as opposed to when the tides allow it.

Rommer I'm looking forward to my new home but please understand I truly enjoyed 9 out of the 10 years I was there. This said anyone I have ever recommend the marina to I did so with the best intentions not to share in may displeasure if I was unhappy I would have left sooner. This past year left a bit of a sour taste do to several events and the way they were handled as well as the lack of seawall and any resemblance of security.

It just takes longer for some people to experience what is the "real" SPBM. In the end is where the management prefers to stick it to the customer.

I don't deny hearing this before but I for one have not had such experiences except the one time when Stu forgot to enter a $500 cash payment into the computer I had the receipt and straightened this out but if I didn't I sure I would have been screwed. That did piss me off a bit. I don't think it was intentional just incompetence at it's best.

How are you enjoying JC I have never been there too rich for my blood. I would like to visit someday.
