SPBM

SPBM and Patsy's can dredge to 30 feet but it won't make a difference if the channel out to deep water is less than 3 feet at low tide as it is now. My drive clunked on something last summer out there and I only draw 30 inches. The larger boats will still have to plan their trips with a tide chart.

It's contagious:) Deep water is great what can I say, 17' at low tide in my slip!

I can remember when I was at SPBM I couldn't come in one day 2 hours after low I kept calling Pocket Change on the radio for updates at to were the water was on the sea wall, Thanks again Ken.

Not sure on this yet I didn't win power ball last night so I might have to check the piggy bank.

Word has it that Wayne's condos are off the table, with the town, since the storm. The town now sees what can happen in that area in a large storm.
Word also has it, that Wayne will be putting his effort into the Marina since condos won't be, and the Marina is now is only income in that area.
This is the word that's in the air..........

He claims he will be rebuilding and better then before, I hope he does there will be a shortage of slips if he doesn't. I loved the view from the marina this is probably the thing I miss most. I always felt like I was on vacation while sitting on my boat in the last slip, the view had a great calming affect for me!

It couldn't be much worse, the place was falling apart...

There isn't going to be a shortage of slips any time soon.In this economy probably half of the people whose boat was destroyed are not buying another one. There will not be a stampede at boat dealers this spring. There are probably people who tried to sell their boat and couldn't who are glad it is wrecked. They got rid of it and they have a check.

Exactly, and there are going to be a lot of boaters who are upset that their boats were not destroyed.

Your right just go in used boat market for this area, there are hardly any listings since storm.

Like I said before, the market price for used boats might go up in the NY/NJ area come next spring..........

What about all the boats that weren't damaged and plan on going back in the water in the Spring? The docks are gone in more then one marina! There are hundreds of slips MIA there weren't anywhere near that many boats destroyed. Don't forget Nyack and Piermont in these numbers as well.

We'll have to wait until spring and see what happens. I don't think the damaged marina's are going to go out of business. They will fix the docks by spring. My slip is already fixed at SPBM on the G dock.

I plan to go up there this weekend to check out the progress. I agree most marinas will rebuild but I doubt they will all finish by Spring.

My slip is ready for spring. Just waiting for John, the best fiberglass repair specialist to correct my issues.

Me too Bob I have a few scratches from the storm and I need to replace both trim tabs they got bend up pretty bad nothing to serious but I have to fix a few things I will have the rudder assembly removed and reinstalled as well I noticed a little play that wasn't there before so the insurance agreed to correct it. I'm sure be Spring my boat will by good to go.

BTW I will be at the party next week along with a several others from the dock. Made reservations last night.
