SPBM

Marina's around us are getting built up, fixed and prepped for the up coming season, another boating season is about to start later then sooner it seem, weather sucks another weekend, so bowering at home nothing to do other then inflating my dinghy and my new fenders, watching boating videos (Allen's porn as my wife call is). Cant wait to take that long walk to my blue 138 slip, Hank is smoking cigars (electric cigar) new neighbors, new Victoria secret is right there as well! A 3rd Trojan is docked down the dock, volvo engines i am so jealous!!! All looks and feels like so far away right now and almost imagination.

Took a ride through all the Stony Point Marina's today. While there is def. progress it would really surprise me if they are open by April 1. LOTS of work to do yet! Looks more like May or June to me.

SPBM was running electric and water to G dock and working hard on D dock I believe they will have at least these two docks in place. I think they will then build as/if needed. Patsy's has been working hard building all the mains I think most are completed the will soon start installing them.

Hard at work in the snow!

Does anyone have a handle on how all of this is being paid for? I know one year the RYB paid for it out of pocket because the insurance premiums would put them into the poor house.

I don't know for sure but I don't think the insurance companies are willfully forking over money. I believe most of the local repairs are out of pocket with the hopes of settling with the insurance companies down the road. I think this will be a legal battle for some time! It's times like this I'm glad I didn't decide to by a marina. Speaking of this Rommer when do you take over SPBM?

My understanding is that dock insurance is VERY expensive, and most marinas don't have it.

Got this today in the mail. Really hard to fins a business today that have a good customer service and customer awareness. Not comparing or rubbing this to any ones face but just think it is very nice of them to keep us update like that etc... I mean they cold have just post something on FB and get it over with and instead they mail a packet to everyone's homes. Very Nice!!!

I hear barges and cranes are headed up the Hudson to help out with SPBM.

Yes, they want to make sure the dredging is complete in SPBM before they start the new construction on the TZB begins.

I stopped by Patsy's Bay yesterday and Spoke to Mike. he said they finished constructions all the docks! Now it's just a matter of launching them, getting them into place and starting on electric and plumbing. The bathrooms have been reconstructed as well as the office. They have definately been busting their buts on the reconstruction of the marina! This is fantastic news! Congrats to everyone for all the hard work and effort in making this marina a success!

The hell with the dredging at this point but a seawall sure would be nice! That's the main reason we left Patsy’s.

Walked through SPBM yesterday, first thing I noticed was the office was closed. If someone wanted to leave a deposit, no one is there to take it.
Seems they are working hard repairing the docks, finding the good one and putting them back together, however can't see them being ready for this season in a few weeks. Even if they do have boats in the water this season, they will be working through the summer season, and as we all know that means power outages in the middle of the week as they work etc. The best of luck to them and the people that summer there, but this summer will be less than normal for their services.

It's going to be a bumpy summer in SPBM the way that "seawall" is looking...

Power will not be out if G dock is done, I was up there and checked water and power work. They are doing it the right way. And each section of dock is on its own main breaker.. If they work on other sections in marina power would not be shut down for docks that are completed. Patsy's in same situation. Alot of damage for people to handle, being a business owner I feel bad for whoever has lost their livelyhood.

No loss of power for working, Sure, right. and that goes with the L shape pool, fully operational office...................
