SPBM

I suggest that we appoint John as the Designated Page Turner.

Actually I have heard two things John.

The first bit of news I heard was US Gypsum who has water rights in front of Haverstraw Marina has given a marina in our area the rights to dump there silt from dredging in there channel. Seems that since the silt is from the same area that they can avoid obtaining some of the paperwork and permits usually required. This bit of informations comes from a friend who suposibly has seen the samples taking from both areas and sources say its a done deal. If this pans out, it could lead to alot of good things but I do see a down side to this.

As far as the second bit of news, I think it best I dont say anything just yet, but if true it could be a bomb shell.

I find it hard to believe that anyone would be permitted to dump their dredge materials into the area in front of Haverstraw marina. How would boats get in and out of the marina? If just moving it from one spot in the river to another is permitted, why not just put it in Stony Point Bay? They could make an island, which would also act as a breakwater for the marinas in the bay.

Yes, the other information really is a bombshell!

Who is going to announce the news Mauri or Springer?

John, Most of your "Info" is second hand...

So are you trying to say the story you told us on the dock isn't true?

What story is that? If you are saying I told about something Carla said at a Chistmas party then you are mistaken... I have never been to any SPBM Christmas Party...

John-sent u a PM

It wasn't a SPBM party Leigh. Although it was a gathering around the holidays but quite a few years ago. Shame you can't remember it.

Hoooogan,
I know Naaaaaathing.........I see Naaaaaaathing.........I say Naaaaaaaathing! Ya Vol my Commadant!

It seems like Gypsum is not happy with the local politicians over there tax rate and may be doing it out of spite not caring about Haverstraw. Would be a good way to get back at them. Gypsum will never need the channel again the way things are now and they are the ones who have the permit to keep it open.

I was told that the deal was they were going to equalize water depths. SPBM has 3 feet at low tide and haverstraw has 17. They were going to pull from SPBM and dump in Haverstraw making them both 10 feet.

I cant say for sure that it is but it sounds like the dredging is in Stony Point Bay.

The NY Boat Show was a disappointment. Now I remember why I haven't been there in ten years...

Went last year and said I was not going again. Heard its even smaller with vendor section.

The Norwalk in-water boat show is so much better, now I know why I haven't been to NY show in 6 years.

We did get some free soup, so it wasn't a total waste...

I enjoyed it! I ordered a new name for the boat the old one had faded out. I had to go up to the boat today just to take some measurements to make sure I ordered the right sizes.

Norwalk is the best, love that show.

Ft. Lauderdale and Miami are the best!

These shows around here are a joke.

The only good thing about the NY Boat Show (other then soup that is) its in the middle of the winter and it lifts the boating spirit. it does get smaller and smaller every year which is a shame!
