To get back on topic, how's the dredging going at SPBM? Are they building up the playground with the spoils this time too?

Come on John, we went over this already. They made a deal with USG and are dumping the spoils in front of the entrance to HM...

I think you need to quote your source Leigh, what page number?

Actually I have heard two things John.

The first bit of news I heard was US Gypsum who has water rights in front of Haverstraw Marina has given a marina in our area the rights to dump there silt from dredging in there channel. Seems that since the silt is from the same area that they can avoid obtaining some of the paperwork and permits usually required. This bit of informations comes from a friend who suposibly has seen the samples taking from both areas and sources say its a done deal. If this pans out, it could lead to alot of good things but I do see a down side to this.

As far as the second bit of news, I think it best I dont say anything just yet, but if true it could be a bomb shell.

Home sweet home! I'm not a big fan of business travel, fortunately I rarely have to go anywhere but I always happy to come home.

I got an update while I was away that my swim platform is off and being repaired. I'm encouraged and believe my boat will be ready come spring. I only had some minor damage but I want it in top shape before I launch.

Welcome back, still waiting for good weather to take of my platform. Hope to get it done before The 16th. Going to FL with the family for a week.

Just a follow up to my post about wintering in water. Here's a picture with her winter coat on.

Start of another week and the countdown continues about 70 more days if all goes well. It's going to be a cold week so I don't think I will be working on the boat much but I hope to soon start on my to do list.

Was up there this weekend to flip on my battery chargers. It was very quiet. Took a drive through a couple marinas and the Sandy evidence was not limited to any one marina. Still a sad reminder that I dont think will leave us for quite sometime. Lots of boats in the shed at SPBM having fiberglass work done but nobody actually doing the work. Maybe even with portable heaters it was too cold for it. The good news is the Firetruck was out and it appeared there was no damage.

Don't have many pictures yet. Here's one of us next to Hogan at MYC just before Sandy hit.

Every time I see this photo it reminds me of just how lucky some of us were during Sandy. Walking thru the surrounding marinas was such a gut wrenching thing to see.

I feel the same way only my boat was in the thick of destruction and I escaped with only minor damage I felt guilty as I walked thru the marina and saw the carnage!

Worst part about this crap is I am in limbo! My insurance is still processing the claim.

I remember seeing this picture somewhere before. Really sorry it breaks my heart. Hopefully your insurance company will get there act together fast!

Ditto that.

Video was taken from my cockpit the morning after the storm.
