Can the Regal 2100 LSR (I think the year is a 1998) with a 5.7L 260Hp AlphaI go 70mph running a 23 pitch SS prop? Or even close? I'm talking a stock engine, no mods to make anymore HP.

I had a 1997 2150LSC with a 5.7L EFI AlphaI (1.62 ratio) running a Mirage 23 pitch SS prop and the fastest I got it to on a GPS was 57.5, full fuel and two aboard. I have been told that the 2100 can reach 70, it doesn't make since to me that it can. The weight difference is 500lbs between the two.

What do you think? Anybody here have this combo?

70mph is very, very fast for a stock run about -- but I've had my big, fat Commodore 2465 up just over 50mph (on GPS), so maybe a skinny, sexy little runabout could go that fast.

I wouldn't believe that to be possible on the stock engine/drive setup... Would need some modifications to acheive through higher HP and gear ratio in the drive, along with aggressive prop setup...

I do believe low-mid 60's is possible though.

I"m with Steve on this one. My 28ft. Cruisers with Twin 350"s and Stainless props has seen 50.7 mph by GPS in Ideal conditions with about 1/2 tank of Gas and two people on board. Weighs in at just short of 12,000lbs.

I can remember someone mentioning on our old site that in his area they removed the side windshields and seats and used them as patrol boats. And he had heard they could reach 70mph.

Thinking a 21 pitch Mirage would have given you 60 plus GPS.

Running 4 blade revolution now. Did have 21 pitch Mirage but didn't have GPS at the time. Speedo 57 would bounce to 60.

Needs alot more horsepower to get to 70mph. I've played around with 70+mph boats. It usually takes a big block (454) with some mods to get into those numbers when you're talking over 20ft boats with one engine. Just a reminder. When you're running speeds over 50mph things happen real fast. Once you get into the 70's and higher it's no longer just a boat ride. You have to stay aware of everything that's going on!

Not even going down a wave with a strong tail wind!

And the boat needs to be designed to go these speeds, which I doubt a 21 foot Regal is. READ- Not a performance boat.
