Got "Winter Dream" wet today. We had to be out of Anchor Marina by 3/31 or pay a daily premium, so we took advantage of the calm conditions and got it done.
Cold and overcast but no rain, so after idling at the dock for 15 minutes we shoved off. Only ran 6 knots most of the way, but we did kick her up to cruising speed after Sand Island. Saw a number of fishermen along the Flats.
Our marina was dredged over the winter so we were anxious to see how much water we had. Last year we averaged only 2 1/2' in our slip at low tide (we need 3). Since we were coming in right at low tide, we'd see first hand how they did. We found 5' everywhere but 1 spot, where it flashed 4 for a couple seconds. I'll take that! [:-star]
It's nice to be floating again. We still have lots of things to do, but it'll sure be easier now that we don't have to climb a ladder.
