Finally, FAHGEDABOUDIT (the Silverton one) is home in Skipjack Cove B-31. Naturally, being my boat there is a story attached. While en route to Hack's Point Marina on the Bohemia last Thursday where both FAHGEDABOUDITs spent the winter we got a call from the dockmaster. The travel lift was busted and the repair guy wasn't due until the next morning. No big deal... it'll just be another night on the boat on the hard. Friday morning the lift gets fixed and we launched at about 0900. Before we come out of the slings I start checking around. Sure enough, the starboard engine seacock has a serious drip. We look at possibly repacking it but for $35 we decide to just replace the entire ball valve assy. Lifted the boat and made the change in the slings. Put her back down and all is well so we shove off. Had a nice, quite cruise of about an hour or so to Skipjack. Beautiful, flat water and we were even passed by our old Carver as the new owners were headed to anchor out at Ordinary point.
So, now she's in her slip and we spent the weekend cleaning and getting her shipshape. It sure feels good! However, I do have a bilge pump kicking on once every 4 hours hours or so and pumping out a gallon or two of water each time so I've probably got another dripping seacock somewhere. I'll figure that one out next weekend.
See you all soon!
