Dear All,
I'm hoping some of you guys over in the U.S. of A can point me in the right direction..... I know there are a whole range of Sportfishing boats (Luhrs, Albermarle, Cabo, Betram etc) but for me they are all 'high speed' fuel guzzlers.
I'm after a boat 32-40 foot that has the same kind of fishing features; Flybridge, well outfitted cabins with amenities, decent cockpit and associated fishing features, fishboxes, outriggers etc BUT where speed/performance is not the prime focus, fuel economy and range is paramount.
I'd be happy with a 15 knot cruising speed maybe from a displacement or semi-displacement hull in a boat which doesn't have monster diesel engines pulling down 25 GPH.
My current boat is fitted with twin Gas Merc 260's and uses around 13.8GPH between the engines at 20 knots, and I'd like to reduce this further with a different type of boat even with a tradeoff to a lower speed 12-15 knots.
Thanks in advance,
Nick
