1989 27 Santego, twin 4.3l merc w/A1s. Depending on load (and wind when my bridge enclosure is all zipped up) WOT = 4400 - 4800, stays on plane at 3200 - 3600. Normal rpm ranges?
I typically cruise at 1500 - 1800 rpm (6-8mph, gps) for fuel economy and to take it easy on 20 year old, 700 hour engines. I found at this speed the helm is responsive and she handles the wake from the lake yachts hammering down the river very well.

aholst 1. I have the next size up and those numbers are right in line with my 5.7s right down to the engine hours. I installed a lowrance chart plotter with the fuel senders. Great set by the way. On mine anyway the best economy is at hull speed at 6.5 t 7 mph. At cruising, going slower doesn't help. I found getting closer 29 mph at 3700 yielded the best. Slower with tabs tucked in a bit labored the engines and no gain.
