Can anyone direct me to a vendor who sells "Polished Stainless Steel Plate". I am looking for two pieces of 12" x 12", 1/8" to 3/16" thick, grade 304 or 316.
Thanks

Try Slice of stainless dot com. An old vendor friend of my works there. Good people. Good luck.

Thank you all for the info. I will look into them.

Golfman25,
Thanks, I checked with Slice of Stainless and they unfortunately do not carry polished stainless.

I looked at House of Stainless and they appear to be more of a design center. I will give them a call.

I see that McMaster-Carr carries polished stainless. I will give them a call.

StarryNight, I have polished SS fishing rod holders on my boat made by HOS...they sell what you need. Good luck.

Also, E-J Enterprises in Baltimore. They will cut to your size specifications. I have dealt with them in the past, good group. 800 638 1006. Also have a web site.

If your gonna use it anywhere near salt water I would recommend 316. Also, make sure it is passivated or electropolished.

304 pits in the presence of chlorides (ocean water)

I was able to purchase the plate from McMaster. After speaking with Lewmar the engineer said I would be ok with 304 polished mirror grade #8 for my application. It was ordered and delivered the next day. Apparentlty they have a facility in NJ

Starry,

More tricks for your boat? We are still salivating over your lighted name. What are you doing?

Roger

Roger, as of now, his lighted name is "tarry Night"

Roger,
No new project, although I did install a tv outside in the cockpit area.

I needed the plate for my new anchor roller. My other one ripped out and went in the water. It went deep six.

Mike,

No more tarry night, back to Starry Night, I fixed the "S". Turned out to be a cold solder joint that cracked. It was on last night, what happened you couldn't see it from your marina. Oh that's right, your eyes are starting to go as you get older.

Word is that the stainless steel plate is for your head...
