Hey guys I'm an occasional reader and I like this site. Now I have a problem. I have a Albin trawler with a 120 hp Lehman. While trying to start the engine, (which is a separate problem), my partner kept cranking it over till it will not crank over any more. Now when I turn the key, nothing happens. I was not there at the time so I don't know exactly what happened. I pulled the starter and had it bench tested, tested ok but had the starter solenoid changed anyway because of corrosion. There is also a second “piggy-back" solenoid that I also changed. This did nothing. Did some further testing and I thought it was the ignition switch and changed that, still no change. There is a Guest battery isolator, could that be the problem? I get 12V at the starter so I don't think that the cables burnt up, plus they look good with no visible corrosion.
