I have a 21' 1999 Maxum cuddy, which uses a Telefix power steering system on an alpha 1 gen 2 sterndrive. In my maintenence schedule, it mentions "lubricate steering cable annually". Now, I have looked, and I can't fine any damn grease fittings or any way to lube this steering cable, anywhere. Not at the steering wheel, not at the transom, nowhere. Not the steering seems to need it, it is 7 years old and is as smooth as when new (I had it since new). But, just in case, does anyone know if there are actually maintenence-free I/O steering cables?
