Anyone in the Chesapeake still boating? The weather has been helpful this year to squeeze out some cod month boating. I think we are going to take one last trip this weekend and then put her up for the winter

Nope. Pulled everything just before Irene. Just haven't had time to do much boating so they sit on the the trailers in the yard.

Fishing this weekend and then next - Tangier Sound and southward. Then she goes into the barn.

We just had a great weekend at the Inner Harbor this past weekend. Plan on going fishing 11/25 to 11/27. This is a great time of the year if it isn't blowing. My advice is squeeze that last trip in. Jerry

We lasted through Veterans' Day weekend, as usual... but now we're gradually winterizing. Oil changes done, fridges emptied and defrosted, dinghy offloaded, etc.

Jerry,

Most of our boating is on the northern Chessy. We trailer down from south Jersey and usually go out of Duffy's Creek. We adventure as far south as St. Michael’s and Annapolis and try to hit spots in between (Rock Hall, Chester River). We did not make it to Baltimore this year. Where do you normally slip up when you go there? Last year we made an overnight to Fells Point, which we really enjoyed, but I would really like to experience an overnight in the Inner Harbor.

FWIW, we've stayed at Inner Harbor, Inner Harbor East, and Anchorage marinas over the years... all good, each surrounded by slightly different attractions.

Still boating, hoping for 3-4 more good weekends. Usually winterize in December even tho from a temperature point of view, that is still early for that. I leave the boat in the water year round.

yup, still nice weather down here in Norfolk. Most leave their boats in year round here. I'm going to pull and winterize early Dec since I deploy in Jan. won't be back util late August!

Took our last trip today for a short cruise on the Bay and then went to pump out and fuel up. Winterization starts next weekend, the boat stays in the water for the winter, gets hauled in the spring for bottom paint and zincs.
Beautiful day today, tomorrow is supposed to be better, just can't be out tomorrow :(

Pulled & parked it this week. waiting for shrinkwrap now. Sad time, but Spring will be here just after Xmas; can't wait. Hopefully, winter won't be overly harsh & I can get some interior stuff done whiole under wraps. Have a great Holiday season

Two nice days of boating this past weekend. Was surprised at # of boats that were still out boating. Hoping for a couple nice days for the coming weekend.

I was down in Baltimore the weekend of the 12-13th, and Monday looked so good I stayed an extra day. Made a nice late morning run from Bear Creek to the Bay Bridge and back. The forecast looks reasonably good this weekend, and if it stays nice, we'll probably be back down. See you out there...

GregoryS, thanks for your service! Be safe! Myself, went out on the water today for the first time since moving to FL. Mid 80's, water temp was 78. Only have the dink from the mother ship but it was nice to get out. We miss the Chessy but not the winter weather!

Took our last trip this past weekend. Left Fri. night and ran to Ches. City for the night (about 25 mile trip). Caught a perfect sunset comming up the canal! Very toasty with (2) heaters and a few bottles of wine. Now it's time to put her away for the winter this weekend....come on spring!! Happy holidays to everyone.

Thanksgiving weekend, could not have asked for better boating days in November. Out and about for Friday and Saturday. Still hoping for a few more nice weekends before winterizing....YUK!

Got our Black Friday/Saturday fishing trip in. Two days of fishing and only one fish. The redeeming graces were that the weather was perfect; in fact too perfect, need colder water to bring the fish northward. We still had great weekend fishing out of Chesapeake Beach Rod & Reel. Today my wife said “let’s cruise this weekend to the Inner Harbor to watch the Parade of Lighted Boats”. No arguments coming from me. A quick call to the insurance company extended our coverage to 12/15 (if you are still using your boat make sure your insurance doesn't have a winter layup period starting on 12/1).
Crownline33, we usually stay at the Inner Harbor East or just tie to the bulkhead at pier 5. That area is very convenient to Harbor Place, Little Italy and it is not too far from Fells Point. Jerry
