Heads up! I had my 2004 Yamaha Fx Cruiser stolen from an EZPort in a private/neighborhood marina in Massapequa. They picked mine from about 10 newer machines? If anyone has noticed someone with a suspiciously new, older model,Yamaha Waverunnre I'd appreciate the help. On a side note...lock down your PWCs!

That sucks ... Post a pic if it had any to make it stand out ....

Good news! Suffolk PD called yesterday. The two stolen skis from our marina were found and brought to Tanner Park. Had the ski picked up yesterday; it's home and well locked down. Yes, Brian it was HGSC marina, so make sure you lock you machine down.

Any damage? How did they start it? Did you leave the key in the console?

I haven't had a chance to go over the machine. My daughter ran it home and said it ran fine. She mentioned that when tied up, around handlebars, at Tanner it was probably tied up tightly which crushed the plastic covering around the handle bars as the tide receded. All in all not bad.

The big question is how did they start it? and is the key still working properly?

As it is an older machine (probably one of the oldest in the marina) there is not a "security key" it's just a lanyard that allows contacts for starting. You can start it with a matchbook or lanyard that you buy at west marine. That being said, there is an emergence lanyard stored on the ski that they probably used. Have had a ski in the same location for 15 years without issue. As a matter of fact facility has not had a vessel stolen as long as memory serves. Rest assured the machine is now locked down.

Sounds like kids joy riding not stealing for money. Glad to hear you got it back and it seems OK!
