I was coming back from West Hampton Beach and these 4 guys were in a 23-24' Formula go-fast boat behind me and right up my a$$. They finally passed me, but I passed them at the Smith point bridge because they saw the red light on the bridge support and thought they it was a traffic light and had to stop. I even heard one of them say "stop, its a red light". And they were honking their horn so someone would open the bridge or change the light. I guess they missed the green light in the center of the span. As far as I know, they are still stopped at that red light. You can't make this stuff up!

That's a good one. I'll have to remember to tell other less experienced boaters, remember to stop for the light before you go under the bridge.

Holy smokes.....I think I ran into those guys with their bow towards a bouy in the cut......waiting for a green one....:-)

Did they have their turn signal on?

And they say go fasters are not cautious...
