Storm anchor

I am considering buying a 150# work-boat anchor to use only for hurricanes. I have had some miner damage to my boat and slip/pier during previous storms. I will be anchoring in a well protected cove in a bay but only about two miles from the Gulf of Mexico. What are your feelings on this idea. My boat is 42'.

CW, if you go the permanent route, look into a helix mooring - very strong and easy to take out should you move.
