Looking at the photo closely you can see the plexi glass piece on the port side between the fiberglass and the eisenglass is missing. The top part of the frame is bent also. What is this piece called and what is the availability if any. The boat is a 2001, 356 motoryacht.

Call Taylor made. Let them know what you have and they will be able to have it made for your. That would be my first try, I know they are who built mine.

The cheaper route may be to try to find somebody to fix it for your and the plexi shouldn't be too hard to match from a local plastic/glass shop.

How did this happen?

taylormade will be able to make it for you...may take a while though

I found the spec sheet for my boat and the part is called a wind shield which seems crazy considering it's only about 10" high. I can make the plexi part no problem. The part I need is called a venturi-style, wraparound aluminum frame. It holds the wind shield together and is stable enough to snap the canvas to. Is this something Carver sells and/or how do I contact someone.

Thanks for any leads,

Billy K.

You can try calling a Carver Dealer, Staten Island Yacht Sales 718-984-7676 ask for Chris is Parts. He can see if it's a part you can order. You may want to email him the photo too?

The entire "windshield" is made by Taylor Made Systems and is not available from Carver...Staten Island may be able to get it for you...if Taylor still has it available.

Some people call that a "venturi", "venturi windshield", or "venturi windscreen".

I found out the windshield was not made by Taylor Made. Bret Temple from Carver was very prompt in replying back to me but I did not understand right away the part was made at Aluminum 2000. I spent a couple of days back and forth with Taylor Made before Bret cleared up who made the windshield. I e-mailed over to Judy at Aluminum 2000 looking for information and did not hear back from her. I called there yesterday and talked to a guy who explained Judy no longer works there, their computers crashed, and they are presently moving from Pennsylvania to New Hampshire.

I need the top part of the frame and a corner bent piece of plexiglass. I don't think I will be getting it any time soon. Carver had a new complete windshield part # 7053426 for $5400.00, so I guess I will wait. Thanks for all your help and advice.

Ouch! A $5400 expense this time of year is never fun.... Hope you got a nice fat tax refund!!!

If that was indeed storm damage as indicated in the topic talk to your insurance agent. That would be a valid claim,I think.

It was storm damage but my deductable is $1530.00. If I can just get the parts I need it might be cheaper. We will see, I will keep you posted.
