It looks like Ernesto may cross through Charleston next weekend. We came home to Charlotte yesterday to build some more floors and other things for the boat. This will be our first brush with a serious storm since we have a boat that can't be drystacked so I have a few questions.
The storm is predicted to hit Friday in SC so we're heading down Tuesday to secure the deck stuff, and remove biminis etc. I don't have the experience or ground tackle to take the boat up river and anchor. We've arranged haulout [standing agreement to haul 48 hours before any storm with our marina].
I've stopped all the window and stanchion leaks and gotten the boat water tight over the last few months. I have 2 doors that still leak in a driving rain. Will duct tape help slow down the leaks? We can tape the cracks last thing before we leave. Other than removing deck furniture and other loose stuff what should we do before we let them haul it if necessary?
