No, not the song ( though it is a very nice song ), but rather here comes Mother Nature's traveling circus...

Looks like a TS will go cruising the Northern Gulf coast from FLA theough Louisiana.

Oh. Joy.

Good thing I have stocked up on TP, bread and milk already.

Just upgraded to TS Sally. It s been blowing 30-35 kts sustained here most of the night and morning.

Warm water, low shear... I don’t see Sally intensifying to a minimal cat 1.

yeah - bet your azz stormy Monday...Cat 2 bullseye on our rock in the middle of the ocean.

Winds start Sunday evening...ramping up to direct hit 8am Monday morning, 100knts forecast.

All packed up once again...so that'll be how many direct hits in 4 years...i counting 4.

No damage during the last Cat 3 direct hit, fingers crossed same for this Cat 2.

I'll take a Cat 1 all day every day.

I saw that storm "considering a visit" to Bermiland/ Hang on. Looks like you will get a free boat wash. ( and car, house and sidewalk! I hate it when it does that...

If you look at the written data, my location is actually expecting more or less an extended afternoon T-storm. Could be a fair amount of rain, so perhaps stream flooding. No 0ne is discussing surge ( my primary threat ).

If you listen to "the nooz", armegeddon is soon to arrive. But I think it will fall somewhat short of their expectations ( or rathr, wishes )

Stay safe. Cat 2 can be a problem...

I am beginning to think I should just paint a target on my front door... <sigh>

Forecasters are still lacking high confidence in their forecast. Time will tell.

I'm at the beach condo, Gulf Shores. o issue here right ow. Moved boat inland and cleared ground level. We are staying put.

....and just another f&^ed up Monday..tomorrow. Cat 2 Teddy passing 100 miles east..hurricane force winds are 80 miles from center..in for a mighty blow. Biggest winds are coming on my worst side - NE,NNE, N, NW diminishing.
Office closed tomorrow, spend 3 hours on site today shutting down systems and servers. Bitch being the IT guy and the Facilities guy.

At least the cisterns will fill up...

Be safe. Stay away from wind farms...

It is a pain being the preferred target.

Be safe! Hope it stays at least 100 miles away!

This is as good a place as any for me to mention this:

I use two online assets frequently when watching storms. One is Levi Cowan's "TropicalTidbits" He doea a daily commentary of publicly available sources explaining what you are seeing, what they re reporting and why certain conclusions have been reached. A very nice ( unofficial ) analysis of Atlantic Storms.

The other is simply a "visualization tool", more commonly used for cruisers ( power or sail ) to get wind forecasts.

"PredictWind". They have a free online access version, as well as phone apps and provision for sat phone collected GRIB data. ( Sat phone connect required a subscription. See their site )

I have NO connection wit either, other than I have used them and like their product. YMMV

alls back to normal here - storm has come and gone - just a bit blustery rb2@gr5t35mph. Quite chilly now since winds are from the north. Strm is racing northwards towards Nova Scotia at 20knts.

Worst coastal erosion I've ever seen, no damage to buildings or boats from this storm, no reports of power outages.

Been to work already and cleared the buildings for tomorrow...IT services are running without issue.

thumbs up for tropical tidbits, spaghetti models (Mike), Wunderground, NHC, NDBC..

Hopefully no more storms..I just need a boat now.

Stephen
