hi all, long time reader, first time poster.i have a 34 silverton.i replaced the flax packing with teflon coated flax packing.i had no problems getting the old stuff out, and was able to fit 3 rings into each log.i only hand tightened the nut. when i put the boat back into the water each side was dripping a bit. after ive run the boat a few times, im getting no drip at all.i have to admit i like the dry bilge, but should i be concerned.the shaft doesnt feel hot, and no noise or smoke.ive only taken her out on short trips.thanks in advance
