How do I subscribe to a topic? I get a message saying I must be a subscriber. Is this a money thing ?

Actually, a couple of things happened. I was getting a few dozen rejected emails a day from folks who subscribed to topics but had bad email addresses. When the system can't process the email, it sends back notice. We were also get offers from varies African Princesses who inherited a few diamond mines and needed help getting their millions out of the country. These were being emailed from within our system and also via PM. So I made emailing and PMing a subscriber benefit. Not for the money but to eliminate spam. I know who the subscribers are but don't know who princesswhoopwhoop at yahoo.com is.
