DOes anyone know when the advanced reservation system opens for the County owned marina at Shinnecock? Also, how far in advance can you make reservations and for how long? Is there a rateincrease expected this year?

Brian

It looks like it u open now up to 7/13.
Rest opens around April I think.
You can book as far in advance as you want
You can only book 2 weeks then you have to leave.
But I think you can book multiple 2 week stints
Rate increase. It was 40 a night. Who cares!

Lol like you'll go Brian ! That's way to much fuel for u lol

Let me know when you go

Brian,
If you have never been there you will like it, nice beach, beach has a bar and bar type food as well as a band that plays either on Friday nights or Saturday. As Dave mentioned the price is to stay there is inexpensive.

Guys, thanks. Our plan is to stop there on the way out east. I've heard it's a nice place to relax. We go past it every year and always say we should try it so this year we plan to. First I've got to get a green card then figure out when. Are any of the docks preferable?

You should try to get a floating dock if you don't like steep climbs up and down a ladder on low tide. Over the last two seasons we have been on the north bulkhead which is not a floating dock, I think it was NB50. The ladder did not bother me and it was a close walk to the beach and raw bar hut. If my boat is not sold by spring or early summer, we plan to go back early this season.

We stayed on the North bulkhead. Ladder did stink as it was a far climb at low tide.
With that said, the floaters book fast and there are few floaters for bigger beams.
The nice thing about North dock is it a private, you can have your stuff behind your boat, and it's a short walk to beach.

You have to have a green card and it must match boat owners name. I had a friend book with his Dad's card and when he got there they turned him away because it was not his card.

I am gonna go back this summer, gotta decide a timeframe.

I would love to take my boat there this summer, especially w/ the slip fees being so low.

Does anyone know if they have any slips that are at least 17 feet wide?

Thanks in advance!

There are marinas across the fairway that take transients. Its either Mariners Cover or SS3 has a pool. Both have large boat slips...Jackson's (Shinnecock side of the canal) certainly does.

I just looked and I think biggest is 16 ft. I didn't go thru all slips as you have to call them up and look.

Well there are a couple of sure things I know of in this world.

I will always be bald.

I will always be skinny.

With a 16'3" beam, me boat will always be a fat azz...
