I have been pondering an idea lately...

We anchor a bunch for a night or two here in Florida. Some of you might know the area... Peanut Island. Anyways there are some marinas (Sailfish and Rivera Beach) That have some food and bars to relax at.

Does anyone keep a 9-11 foot inflatable dingy on their small cruiser with oars to just row over for the evening instead of moving the boat?

The longest row would be about 300 yards I figure maybe max 500 yards. There are some swift current sometimes dependent on tides.

Is this a silly idea? It seems like a nice easy way to go a ways without having to pull anchor and move and deal with docking etc...

We could also use it to go to the beach for walks without always swimming or getting soaked which is nice if you want to bring a shirt/hat/sunscreen and some drinks.

I figure when we arrive and anchor we could inflate it on 12 volt then just tie it to a cleat and before leaving the next day just deflate and put it away.

Here is an example this one is:
133" in Length x 50" Wide x 19 1/2 " High
4 Adults + Supplies max 814 Pounds

Any opinions on brand/size etc appreciated!

Thanks for your experience and help ahead of time!
