Hello all, I have a 1994 Bayliner Capri 2050SS 5.0L Mercuiser Alpha1. Some of you may have read about this boat already. Well, I have it competely together and am thinking of taking it out to the lake this evening. After reading the forums about temperature, I wanted to know what I should look for. The boat was actually taken out before when I first timed it. Had it in the water for about 45 min. it ran nice,at WOT RPM gauge read about 4500 and felt like it was still climbing, temp gauge around 140. I hope to run it longer to prepare for a long weekend with the family.
A little history about the boat: gimbal bearing recently replaced, impellar replaced, basic tune up completed. oh and new deck floor, carpet, bilge pump and rub rail.
I have a IR temp gun, where are some good locations to test for heat? I don't have a problem just want to give boat a thorough evaluation.
