... places to go for overnights and/or weekends.. We are experiencing "burnout" on our usual boat stops, Mystic,Napatree, Block, Sag, Greenport, Newport.... We are on the Ct River so essentially central Long Island Sound,we cruise at 25 mph so anything within a few hrs is fine. We are comfortable with anchoring but slips and moorings are all good, too. I honestly don`t get out west of the river much nor do I get thru the Shinnicock ( my only experince with thr GSB was when I found out my depth sounder didn`t read under 5 ft....you can guess how that went, we have a new sounder now)
Quiet places are good, active places are good, just looking for ideas.
Thanks.

I don'q want to assume..... Stonington, Wickford (my port), uppper pond in Galilee, Bristol, Warren, Jamstown (both sides), East greenwich has great restaurants.......

I'm and heading to Maine myself from wickford in 2 weeks, any thoughts going north?
Also, for a fall trip, we wannado LI sound again. We just did Greenport and cockles harbor as well as mystic seaport, stonington, the thimles and essex and hamburg cove. Oyster Bay, Port Wash

be glad to offer any additional imput on my end

Wickford sounds interesting, we went to East greenwich last year and enjoyed it, maybe we`ll combine the two. Does Wickford have an anchorage?

Wickford has several marinas and a mooring field. I'm not sure if the moorings are all private. "In the Know" might know. He keeps his boat in the area.

You'll need a ride, but some local watering holes include Duffy's Tavern and Oak Hill Tavern. At those two places, you'll run into the local characters. Pretty good food, and a very casual tavern atmosphere. Wickford is a nicer, more quaint village, but East Greenwich will have more restaurant choices.

Keep in mind that the weekend after the 4th of July weekend is the Wickford Art Festival. Fun event, but the village will be absolutely packed.

How's Point Judith for a stop? I'm heading there to get diesel fuel but from what I can tell it looks like a good over night spot. Anyone been there (http://pjmarina.com/)?

I'm heading to LI sound this summer (West Hampton, Greenport and SAG) as we've never done that. If nothing else it will be a change in cruising scenery.
