Winterized JETLAG last weekend and all season long I had a battery that would discharge in a day or two. Took the battery and had it checked and they always said it was ok but again it would discharge. I kept looking for something draining that battery and will winterizing I think I found it. I have a sump box drain that my air conditioner condensation drains to. I always clean it out before winter storage and this year when I reached in to lift the float switch it "bit" me! Sure enough there was a little DC current running thru the water in the drain. I am thinking of replacing it with one of the venturi type drains that sucks the water out of the pan as the A/C runs.

Sump drain how shocking!

Well the other sump drain used for the shower was "free of charge". Talking to the mechanic at pull out and he seemed to think the pump or float switch has a short because the pump was not pumping the way it should, it was very sluggish.

It is possible to feel 12vdc, and it will be a continuous non stop tingle kind of feeling if you are grounded enough and there is some form of a load, the more the load, the more of a tingle you will feel. I have any times working around a battery, all hot and sweating, touched the post and ground at the same time. Not harmful but will surprise you when it happens. I would about bet once the sump is empty that you wont be discharging the battery any longer. If this is AC from another source, you will see that right after you pull it from the water............D............
Thanks for the clarification, Dave. I just didn't want Jeffrey to too lightly dismiss AC if that was any kind of possibility. Did you get the tingling from the battery with the engine off, no alternator charging? I've had bad tingling when in the water working under my boat where there turned out to be nearby AC shorepower leakage ( my boat was not connected to the dock power , or running.) If that had been fresh water I might not be pecking this.
Easy test might be to disconnect the batteries and reconnect to see if the issue manifests both ways or stops when off, or use a sensitive AC/DC voltmeter.
