Well it hadn't rained for weeks and the days were mostly all sunny, but yesterday was the day we had scheduled for a gathering and ride on the boat, including two grandchildren. About mid-afternoon when the winds calmed, we decided to go for it. Took a most pleasant and incredibly smooth ride (no rain) up to Cold Spring and docked for a late lunch at the Depot. Ate outside (no rain or mist) where my grandson just ate up the train traffic going by quite regularly for a Sunday afternoon. The ride home was equally smooth and rain free and only when we got around Stony Point did it start misting a little bit. Got back to the marina and in the slip with no problems and then enjoyed the rest of the evening with the adults on deck and the grandkids snuggled up in the cabin watching a DVD. We were so close to canceling the day earlier, but it turned out to be a fine day even without the sun.

Sunday did not look that great out there. I went out to fuel up and pump out around 11 AM prior to when a group of guests were scheduled to show up. As I was coming back to the slip it was getting more windy, and it looked like rain. It then began to rain a bit on an off. Since several of the people on board were not real comfortable sitting at the dock having lunch, we decided to not go out were we would have rocked a bit more. It was interesting to see how few boats were on the river yesterday as well as how few people were at the Marina. The parking lot was empty. Maybe next weekend will be better... The season is ending soon... ahhhh
