The you tube video is nothing short of amazing and reveals the ingenuity and competence of our engineers and military during WW II.
Although rarely admitted today, were it not for a sufficient supply of fossil fuels we would be speaking German today. I was well aware of how aware to the significant role our refineries played in providing fuel including development of making high octane gasoline for our air force, I never thought about the logistics of getting the fuel on mainland Europe as described in the short video.
I wish we had the same competence today to get things done!

Today we have the same and even greater competence to get the job done. The problem is not in the doing, it is in the bureaucracy.

It is in people/corporations/companies (and whatever else you want to insert_) not willing to put in 8 hours for 8 hours pay.

There. Fixed it for you. Our government has destroyed both business and work ethic in the US through a half century plus of masterminding, creating, and culturing the most hideous welfare nanny-state since the USSR.
 
I couldn't read it either, and I wasn't born till after WWII but many old movies showed ration cards for everything from food to fuel. The whole country participated in the war effort.
