Mine, I mean. They haven't worked since I installed them last year. Tie Down brand surge brakes (complete, on new backing plates, bolt on, 10") came with ZERO instructions. The old set of shoes disintegrated upon disassambly (rivets failed) so were not much help in installing new ones. This new set has only ONE piston exiting the wheel cylinder, pushing on the smaller brake shoe.
So, should the piston and the smaller shoe be facing forward?
Sorry I can't post a pic. There is no air in the lines. There is evidence of the slightest contact of the smaller, rear facing shoe, but not enough to even create wear marks.
I think I need to pull both sides off and switch them. One shop tells me the wheel cylinder piston should be facing FORWARD, so any thoughts? Thanks all.
