Riverkeeper is posting results of several tests it has conducted throughout the river. Take a look, it's pretty interesting.

I hope the next next step is to investigate patterns in "unacceptable" readings. Such as after power outages, after heavy rains or perhaps recreational boaters heading to port after a long weekend.

I'd love to see them sample the Rondout just after high tide when they dump the sewage.

Nice to see all of Croton's test were acceptable.

Good info to have. Thanks for the link.

Its sure nice to know that your swimming spot gets a passing grade.

How about geese? After a rain, a lot of goose crap ends up in the water. How does that affect these readings???

Bacteria is bacteria, goose or human, does it matter?

Had some friends up from florida and yesterday we took a trip to west point. The river had alot of debris logs propane tanks but what really made it special was the condom floating by.DEC has to be on the backs of the owners of the swage treatment plants.

Most likely it did not come from a sewerage treatment plant. What happens on the Hudson, stays on the Hudson.

the condtion of the river would indicate it was a floatable. read today's journal news

There's been a lot of wind and storms. That flow will take beach debris that lands in the river. We were out on Tuesday, there was an awful lot of "stuff" in the water.
