Very sad to report hearing that the legendary Tabman Tom has passed away.

What an amazing representative of the marine industry's customer service, and really helpful & humorous Boater Ed participant in the past.

Smooth wake, Tabman

( An old post: http://www.boatered.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=144846
I couldn't find the threads that included pics of Tom and his huge cat wearing their watermelon helmets.)

Tom help me once diagnosing a trim tab issue. Incredible knowledge, he was on the money with diagnosing the problem and recommending the solution. He got nothing back for his efforts here, just seemed to enjoy sharing his experience and helping people. Rip Tabman.

What a loss to this forum and to Bennett. He was such a strong resource.

A fine gentleman and a great sense of humor. We need more like him. He is missed.

Sad to hear, he was one of the good guys. I had a trim tab problem with the tabs on my boat, way out of warranty. He took care of it anyway

RIP Tabman. You will be sorely missed.

He helped me also. Sorry I missed the wild party ROs had at Tom's house while he was away. :)

When I found a leaking ram on our boat he sent me a replacement free of charge. I met him at the NYC boat show with Art (R.I.P.) and we shared some good experiences. Indeed he was a good man and an asset to the boating industry and community.

So sorry to hear, he was a font of knowledge and helped many of us here on BE.

RIP, Tabman

Very sorry to hear of his passing. He gave a lot of great advice on this board over the years.

I met Tom at the Ft Lauderdale Boat SHow in the fall of 2002.
I brought my data and he showed me how to maximize my boats performance and efficiency by replacing the factory 22"x9" tabs with specially designed 22"x12" tabs with DROP FINS that would simply bolt on -direct replacements - exactly as the old ones were.

He spent a lot of time looking at my data, and exemplifies CUSTOMER SERVICE

The world was a better place with people like that.

One of the few active marine product reps out there. Always willing to help. RIP Tabman.

I saw this on the Bennett website:

This must have been sudden as he was actively posting on FB on Dec 1st.

R.I.P. Tab an. He helped so many of us here and asked for nothing in return.

Sorry to hear this! I have picked his brain more the once!
