I use Cam-Shield. A 8oz. bottle treats 32 quarts of oil. They have a website you can check out. My engine rebuilder recommended the stuff and I've been using it ever since.
 
I have to admit that all of this info was a bit overwhelming. I just changed the oil in my 2001 7.4 Mrec cruisers with 540 hours on them. I have been using Rotella 15-40 per my mechanic. In light of this info, did I make a mistake? What is the bottom line my fellow boaters, what oil is the "correct" one for these engines and location?

Like what GregoryS said " have you ever seen an engine failure due to oil used?" Read your engine manual to see what is recommended and I see no problem using the Rotella.
