OK, here we are again with the Buff Magic Pro Polish battles..

Buff Magic wasnt enough to get a shine from my new project boat. Its a 1972 V182 Glastron. The green was all faded and needed some serious help.

I used an automotive product named Tru Grit, its made by a company called MALCO. I opted for that because compound is just way toooo greasey, I dont like it. This tru grit cutting creme did better then I thought.

once I finished with that, I applied Buff Magic and pro polish over it. Will the buff magic and pro polish help to keep the deep shine I now have on the boat??

or should I have used a different product??
 
Yes it should protect the gelcoat from further oxidation (Pro Polish). Wouldn't hurt to use two coats of Pro Polish and apply another coat midway thru the season. I wouldn't expecct Buff Magic to to bring a 38 yr old boat back, you need an aggressive cut like you used.
 
Ill tell ya, I was impressed with the buff magic. The cutting creme I used didnt bring back a shine, it brought the color back and removed oxidation..once i applied the buff magic is when I got the shine back.

The boat is so clean and a deep shine that some random guy driving down the street and stopped to tell me how good it looks..Impressive product.
 
That is how all compounds and polishes tend to work. One does the grunt work and the other does the glory work.
 
As soon as you run a hand over the surface after Buff Magic, you know you're there.

Yep, I was doing some Buff Magic on my fly bridge and could feel where I applied it versus where I missed a few spots.
