On Monday, April 30, the safe at the San Joaquin Yacht Club was stolen. Fortunately, the money from the Champagne Cruise to raise funds for Meals on Wheels was already removed and deposited in the bank!
Nothing of true value was in the safe, but we lost our insurance policy, documents of incorporation, etc. The only damage at the club was the interior door into the room where the safe was kept.
Surveillance cameras have been installed and we are in negotiations with ADT to improve the vessels security.
We suspect the perpetrators arrived by water, perhaps on a small black boat with no lights. This same vessel is suspected in other burglaries along Taylor Rd and at the boat docks of the condos on Sandmound Blvd.
