I installed one of these two weeks ago and it is very nice,,,, until this morning when the handle came off in my hand leaving the plunger behind.
I called Thetford and they are sending me a new pump unit UPS that is bolted, not glued, from the plunger to the rod.
Good follow up service from Thetford But,,,,
There is no recall notice on their site and they are handling each failure induvidually.
If buying this unit confirm that the pump is a Gen 2 pump. Thy say there are about 1000 Gen I units out there but I suspect that there are more than they let on due to how quickly they offered to send a new pump unit.
Thank goodness I have two heads on the boat. The oher one is a freshly rebuilt Jabsco.
