Third beach anchoring

Is it still ok to anchor overnight at third beach? I've seen some older posts refer to anchoring there, but I'd like to confirm that. How's the holding?

Yes and holding power is good.

Drawbacks - subject to some pretty good wakes and fully exposed to a southeasterly.

I've anchored there. Also a few public moorings for $20 per night. North or Northeast winds can send water down the Sakonnet and make it uncomfortable but it's a beautiful spot. Nice beach area. As ITK says, holding is very good. nice to fish off the boat too.

I've anchored along the East wall which is nice and I've anchored closer to shore just East of the mooring field.

Glad to help. I may be heading there in 2 weeks if I can pull it off. One of my favorite spots for a weekend.
