Had a good cruise this weekend. Put in on Friday at the Delta Marina in Rio Vista, cruised over to Vieira's and secured a cabin (my buddy prefers beds and showers to the bunks in my boat) went down to Isleton and tied up to what I thought were public docks but were in fact private. The owner was very nice, told us to make ourselves at home and invited us up for a drink. We then went across the street and had steamed clams at Joe's??, then the biggest chunk of prime rib you ever saw at the Del Rio then back to Vieira"s for drinks at the Portifino. Sat saw us having lunch at Al the Wops in Locke. We then motored up to Old Town Sacramento, got cabins on the Delta King, dinner and drinks at Fanny Anns bar in old town and a good nights sleep on the old paddle wheeler. Sunday we headed up to Knights Landing taking advantage of the high water, missed a turn at Verona and ended up seeing a great deal of the Feather River before turning around. Had a great lunch at "Almanar"?? north of Sacramento and got back on the river going south to Rio Vista. Marvelous trip, great weather (a little rain Sat)good food and drinks, no major mishaps and enough fine cigars to last three lifetimes.
