I was away, but I understand when they had the country music band at Tices, they put in a temporary channel - apparently they left some of the cement blocks on the bottom. With another boater we dragged one of them to shore and he marked the other with a blue noodle. A knuckle head ran over the noodle on Saturday so that one block is still there and no longer marked - south of the board walk and inside of the sandbar - it's in shallower water then I go in, but if you cross that bar or sneak around back from the South keep an eye for it. The water is clear enough to see it, about the size of a milk crate with some chain sticking out. Luckily I noticed it when the wind swung me around...

Thanks for trying to do something about the blocks...but who actually put the blocks in and shouldn't they responsible for making sure that they're removed?

Let me chim in about he blocks, they were put there by the state of NJ as by request by NJSP & USCG. There were Temporary Bouys attached to the blocks with a 5 foot chain to mark off no boating areas and for emergancy passage only. The next day we went out to retrieve the bouys anf found out that some of the unruly boaters stole them and left the blocks. Hope that clears it up.

Oh Donna....can I ask who put the blocks/buoys there and who is the 'we' in your post above who went back to retrieve them? Also, can I ask if you made an attempt look for the blocks in the general area where they were set so as to remove them? Please don't take my post the wrong way. I would just like to have all the details correct before I draw my own opinion.

dominic, I'll try and answer your questions as best as I can. The Blocks & Buoys were put in place from my understanding at the request from the NJ State Police Marine Division and also the USCG. Reason being is to block off a no boat area and also to create a safe passage for emergeancy boats if needed.
They were put in place by a buoy tender that tends bouys in the Barnegat Bay area and beyond for the State of NJ.

As your question, I didnt mean to say we. I was saying what he told me. "When we went out there to get them a bunch were gone"

As for me I wish I could work on a boat. I'm retired and disabled and haven't been on the water in 2 years.
I'm also in NJ.
If you have any questions feel free.
Joe

Got it Joe. I knew it wasn't you....I am also on that 'other fishing forum' and know of your situation. I was just curious who the 'we' was who put them there in the first place.
