What are your plans for the boat? Do you think you'll be towing it around to different waterways, or is it more likely that you'll only use the tow vehicle to launch the boat at the beginning of the season, and pull it out at the end? If it's the latter, then it may make more sense to simply pay someone to do it for you, rather than invest a lot of $$$$$$$$'s in a big rig that will cost you a lot in fuel.

Towing capacity - Chevy Traverse

We used to tow our Wellcraft V-20 from Tampa to the Keys with an old full-size Dodge van we had. It was a "one-ton" known as B30 and had a V8/5.2/318. I "estimated" Boat 1900, Outboard 300, Trailer 800 (tandem galvanized). Never did weigh it, so I'm sure it was a good deal heavier. Estimates are not good.
Driving home, I wanted to go 60 and the vehicle ahead was running 55. After a few miles waiting for a clear pass, I pulled out. This time I glanced at the odometer. When I pulled back into my lane I had been on the opposite side of the two-lane for ONE MILE. 318 was gutless. It was the good ol'days so I tore it apart and put in 360/5.9. Big difference. Good example how "not enough truck" can be problematic.

Well you've had a lot of opinions. Here's the real Skinny. NO the vehicle is NOT strong enough for your proposed use. Think Silverado.
The 6T75 transmissions are failing wholesale. IF you can find someone to rebuild it with the updated parts, make sure you have a rock solid nationwide warranty. Your only other choice is reman replacement, several thousand dollars. Bad choice for towing.
