I got a 2 axle tandem trailer for a 2004 204ssi, and was wondering if there was any necessary trailer service that needs to be performed?
I trailer was driven for one moderately long trip of 220 miles and is now only driven about 1 mile each time to launch. I am told by the Trailer Service people that it is recommended that the service be performed and the bearings taken apart each year to avoid the wheels coming off, etc. Supposedly when you drive the trailer for a long period, then expose it to cooler water, the heat in the bearings draws in all the moisture and results in damage.
Wanted some feedback regarding this before give the trailer people $250-300 bucks for this service.
Thanks, Joe
