trailering a 24' sport cruiser

If the trailer was sitting on the grass all winter, there's a good possibility that the brakes were frozen (rusted) and preventing the wheels from turning.

I pulled a 24' sport cruiser (7,000 lb) for several years with a Toyota Tundra 2WD pickup. I never had a problem on a paved ramp.

I do not believe the brakes were frozen. They are new disc brakes and not fully connected to master cylinder.

The wheels were in slight depressions from being on the lawn for the winter.
 
I have a 1997 4WD 5.7 Chevy Tahoe and I wouldn't even attempt to use a ramp even at high tide. I have a Sea Ray 245 5100lbs and can't get over 55mph on level highway. I don't know if I would be able to take out the boat even in 4WD.. Maybe its just to old and tired 190K miles but runs great..
