a guy a few slips up from me on the dock has a Sea Ray 420...man he has had some bad luck!!
Latest was today during a storm that rolled in this afternoon. We were pulling into our marina and saw him stranded at the entrance. We are off a main channel of the lake so they have a thick line of tires (you can kind of see it in my avatar pic) to help kill the waves around the perimeter of the marina. Well, as he was trying to come in during the storm, i guess a bunch of smaller ski boats got in around him and boxed him in. He got within 10' of the tire barrier and that was all it took for his prop to get caught up in one of the anchor wires coming off the tire barricade. The wind then pushed him into the tires and a large metal "No Wake" bouy. It was a mess...complete with wind blowing hard, rain coming down, etc. etc. We pulled up to try and help...tied off a rope from his bow to my stern and tried to pull him off. That was before one of his passengers dived in and discovered the cable was twice wrapped around the prop. marina workers finally showed up and somehow got him free after a while.
