More info would help get you a better answer. What model ? What year ? What drive ? What type of alarm ?
But.....did you check the outdrive oil reservoir ? It should be at the " full " line.

Check that fluid level for sure. When getting up on plane the angle is severe and fluid levels can be exagerated if not completely full. I had this happen one time and the alarm went off and the guardian protection system cut the throtlle back so fast it spun the HUB on my prop. Check all fluid everytime out!!!
