Has anyone installed trim tab indicators on a 3560 or a 3760?
In my travels I have found that this would be a great addition to set up the boat properly. What has beem your minimum speed plane on this model?

I did not install tab indicators on my 3560, because I am a DIY'r and the Bennett system is a more complicated install plus requiring haul-out.
On my prior boat with Lenco tabs, I did add the indicator switch and loved it. That said...if you want to have it installed, I think you will like it.

Two things I have added to the my present Bennett system, are the auto-tab retractor and the auto-tab controller. Both are easy to do yourself.
The ATC is way cool --as it controls the tab setting automatically once you set it up for the way you like the boat to run.

My minimum speed at plane (as opposed to minimum speed to be on plane) tends to be about 28 MPH. After that, I am putting the trim tabs down as the boat starts to get sluggish and wallow around - pushing water.

The boat 'likes' to cruise at about 32 MPH with 30 being comfortable as well. At 32 - it just sounds and feels right and seems to be good for the fuel economy.

We did a two week run a little while ago and I haven't sat down since to play with the numbers but at about the 30 hour mark of on and off plane running (good mix of both) I was getting a total of 11 GPH hour (ie: 5.5 per side) which kind of surprised me versus I got 13 GPH with my 3260 on a similiar trip. However, I need to verify this but regardless, I was pleased.

I almost never use the trim tabs unless I have an uneven load of people on board. as for cruising, i tend to cruise at 3500-3600 rpm, which equates to around 32 mph. also, do you have inboards or i/o? I have the i/o and i just do not find much use for the trim tabs, but ken has inboards and they may be more useful in that scenario.

Hey Jeff, it sounds as if the tabs are doing their job for you by just being there, straight and level. That's about the way mine work as well, they'er mainly used to get a level ride and other than that I don't need to use them very often.
