Anyone know what type of trims tabs would be best to put on a 1999 2150. I had 6 people on the bost this past weekend and could not get the boat to trim. What should I do?
I have Lenco's on my 2003 2100. Same hull as the 2150. I have a Volvo 5.0GL. Before putting on trim tabs, have you changed props? What engine do you have? The trim tabs will definitely help the planing and listing of the boat with heavy loads. Pretty simple install also.
I have a 5.0 mercury engine. I have a ss prop. Not sure of the size and pitch. What size trim tabs do you have on your 2100. It is a great looking boat. Did you put them on? Also is that a smiw platform?
My Lenco's are 9x12. I did put them on and it was not a terribly hard job. I went with Lenco's due to the indicator switch that is smaller than the Bennett trim tabs helm switch. It seems when reading about trim tabs that the majority like the Bennett better but, I am not much of a critic as the Lenco's are my first experience with tabs. The key to installation is to measure, remeasure, and measure again before drilling holes. I have more detailed pictures of when I did the install if you decide to go for it.
Yes, it is the stock swim platform from Regal. It is very nice and large for the boat. We love it!
I have a 2002 2150 LSC and am looking to install trim tabs. I'd love to see your pictures. Any updates since your last posting on which type, size and any other nuances you have come up with I can learn from? I have a 3 blade, 21 prop on my Mercruiser EFI (260hp) with an Alpha One outdrive. With two families of four it just didn't want to plane out easily.
