I'm looking for advice on manufacturers, hydraulic vs. electric and recommended options.
Thanks

Well, the decision is pretty simple for boats over around 18 ft: Bennett.

But you really need to give us a few hints about the boat. How big is it? Why do you think you want tabs?

No question, Bennett Hydaulic tabs if for notheing more than the outstanding customer service AFTER the sale.If installed correctly, will give many years of trouble free service.

What Bill and Greg said! Ours are young at 13 years/1000 hours. There are many accounts of 20+ YOA Bennetts running without repairs.

I have had both and I asked for and had Bennett's installed on our current boat. But...I still miss the speed of the Lenco's and in 3 years never had any problems with them either.
Good luck
Niles

Going on 6 years with my Lencos and with the visual aid of the lighted key pad, couldn't live without them.

I just purchased a new boat and will be installing Bennett's this weekend as well.

The Bennets on our Chris Craft are about 10 years old, with no problems.
We also have an 18 ft. bay boat with Lenco's. There isn't enough room
for all of the Bennet hydraulic system on the boat, so we went with the
Lenco's. It is new and works well, so I cannot tell you how long they
will work.

I'm looking to put them on or have them on a 20-22' CC.(actively looking to buy)
My understanding is that they help reduce the amount of time to come on plan and can help increase fuel eficiency.
Thoughts?

One thing I learned with bennetts, don't push one up and one down at the same time, blows the fuse.

Step up to modern technology and go for the Volvo QL tabs. Nothing more than vertical tabs that are precise, and easier to use than traditional horizontal tabs. Guaranteed not to skin shins, catch fishing lines or be damaged when loaded on a trailer.
