Haven't been on this forum before and hope you folks can help. I am planning a trip to Martha's Vineyard in mid-July and will be meeting friends at Oak Bluffs.
A few particulars:
1. I am coming out of the western end of LI Sound.
2. Boat cruises comfortably at 20 - 21 knts (express cruiser 40' LOA)
3. Prefer not to do more than 6 hours of run time per day.
Present plans - all subject to weather - are:
1. First day to Saybrook, Conn. - been there before and it's a comfortable run.
2. Second Day to Newport - have not been there and want to spend a couple of days.
3. Then off from Newport to Martha's Vineyard for 3 days (have reservations at Oak Bluff)
Then want to head back home taking 2 days and 1 night (prefer docking at marina.) Have not made any plans yet for return but don't want to stop at Block or Greenport since we have done that many times.
Any advise as to timing of when to make the runs from Saybrook to Newport to MV and any advice on places to stop on the way home would be greatly appreciated. Any other particulars would also be helpful.
