I've been asked for the route I took from Blue Point to Moriches this past Monday. I've attached (hopefully) photos of the related pages from my charts and a typed-version of the directions I followed. As I had indicated, my GPS wouldn't lock on any satellites until just before i enterred the west cut. I made most of the trip based on my chart and the "cheat sheet" I had taped to the side window. My map directions are slightly off because I didn't bother calculating variation. They were close enough that I had no trouble finding each buoy, even without using binoculars. I hope this helps anyone who wants to travel west out of Moriches. It wasn't difficult, just a little tense because I was alone and had never made this complicated a trip before. The east and west cuts are well marked with green can buoys. Just stay to their left as you head west and to their right when you head east. Hy

I just noticed a transcribing error. Under #12, "Follow buoys around to East Cut" should be before "Turn left 35* to Buoy R24." Hy

Boats don't like sharp right turns!
Alot different from last year!

Thanks for posting.
