Trojan 440

Ask for him by user name on the HRCC

From the title I got excited I figured we found another owner.

Maybe he doesn't realize that there are four of us here now.

Funny we all checked in except for the one he is looking for. From his profile it says he has a 72' so maybe he is looking for info in the lighting/name tag Starry has.

Maybe he wants to use Bob's as a dink.

Hi
you guys are funny. Yes I have a 440, had it for about seven years and done a lot of upgrading, a hobby. I got the Cummins QSMs with 635 ponies each so it moves, however it is very economical at the right speed. Love this boat. I had a Regal before this one, ran out of projects for it so it was time for a new one, but this one is a keeper.Yes I am interested in the letters on Bob's boat.
Found this site by Googeling Trojan 440.

I ran one of those with the QSMs in it a few years ago, you aren't kidding. That thing flat out MOVES.

So now there are 5 of us here. What year is yours odvar. Oh, post some pics too.

We should ask Les for our own 440 Express Forum!

odvar, what year? Post some pix. That must really move with 635's. Mine has Cummins 450's. I can hit 30 MPH at WOT

Ii I would go back to an Express, You have THE boat that i would do it for!

Odvar welcome and yes please post pictures. I guess we really made it to 5 440s very cool. Those are some big motors please give us the stats on cruise and burn very curious what she can do. I have the 3126 cats I can hit 30 but cruise about 23-24 and average about 1 mpg or just under but not much. I've had mine 2+ years done a whole bunch of upgrades and love the boat.

Again welcome to the site, you have stumbled on a great site not just that there are a few other Trojans but a wealth of knowledge throughout the forum and a great bunch people.

I'm glad I found this site, I have a few things I like to learn about these boats and with 4 other owners it will be interesting. It will take a little time to put some stuff together an post it.I have been member of boatdiesel for several years, lots of good stuff about engines. One question I have is who made the hulls, Hatteras or carver, some or all? Looks like you guys are on the east coast, I looked at several there however it was too hard to find someone to truck it over to the north west.

If I understand correctly your boat was made completely by Carver. The older model such as mine and John were made in the Hat factory. Some will say they got better when they moved to the Carver factor I'm not sure how. I see very few differences between the years aside from the interiors and the helm. Mine is a 96 the first year they were made and it looks near new. Great boats but it has a Deep draft, that was a long thread in itself.
When did you buy your boat?

Yes...during the first year or two of ownership, the Carver built 440's were much less trouble to their new owners. Working for a (former) dealer that sold many of them throughout their production, I can verify this (with repair orders if you'd like). That being said, once the issues were taken care of, the boats were virtually flawless from then on through the production run

Don't forget me!!! Have not posted in quite some time but boatered is still a daily read!

Love my 440 - just replaced the salon A/C last season, besides that, not a problem to think of.

I was going to mention you, Mike, but wasn't sure you were still on the forum. Still the only hardtop 440 I've seen
